Students will explore the world of work and discover interests through self-assessment and group activities.

A trivia game designed to enhance the knowledge of women’s issues and to make individuals aware of women’s strengths and the powerful role they have played throughout history.

 

What About a Non-Traditional Career?
Explore all your options! Discover careers that are considered non-traditional on the basis of gender of the person who typically works in such a career field; e.g., women as welders and men as nurses. Learn about the benefits and paths for pursuing a non-traditional career.

 

Ready, Set, You’re Hired!
Finding a job can be an intimidating process, especially for those seeking their first job. Students will acquire basic skills for finding a job and learn how to effectively complete a job application.

 

Thinking Outside the Box = Success
Does the way you think determine the amount of success you will experience throughout life? Learn how to think outside the box and experience life at a different level. You will learn that you really can determine your own success and overall satisfaction in life.

Interviewing 101
If you were an animal what would you be? What kind of salary are you expecting today? What are some of your strengths? These are only a few of the questions that you may hear on an interview. Learn how to interview successfully and avoid making mistakes that get you eliminated. How to dress for success, create a good first impression and how to display a positive attitude are other tips that will be provided in this presentation.

 

Men’s” Work versus “Women’s” Work, Is there a difference?
Look inside yourself to discover your hidden talents. This workshop will help you to think “outside the box” and to eliminate gender bias when it comes to work. Choose a career based on your interests, abilities, and values not gender and find much more success and happiness in life. A fun group activity will be incorporated in this workshop.
